Lena Sofield Obituary
Lena Josephine Sofield (Lee), age 98, of Bridgeport, CT, beloved wife of the late Alan Sofield, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025.Born in Bridgeport, Lee was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Dora (Tucciarrone) DeLuca. She spent many years in the Bridgeport and Fairfield areas before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida in 1991. A few years ago, she returned to Bridgeport to be closer to family. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Lee worked for many years in the Human Relations Department at Bryant Electric, where she met her husband, Alan. Together, they shared a love for boating and sailing. After moving to Jacksonville, Lee stayed active by taking a part-time position as a legal secretary. Lee will be lovingly remembered by her son, Gary J. Yakubik and his wife Rachel of Milford, and her cherished grandson Jakob. In addition to her husband Alan, Lee was predeceased by her son, John Yakubik, and her brothers, Benjamin (Ponzi) DeLuca and Cosimo (Gus) DeLuca.Friends may greet the family Thursday, May 22nd from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
