Louis Cocozza Obituary

COCOZZA Louis "Lou" H. Cocozza, age 69, a longtime resident of Huntington, beloved husband of 47 years to Dorothy Paskowski Cocozza, died peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Adam and Assunta (Sonny) Mazzucco Cocozza. He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas Cocozza, a sister and brother-in-law, Marylou and Walter Paskowski; and a grandson, Kevin Louis Cocozza. Lou was a proud graduate of Central High School who was active in school athletics and recently co-chaired his 50th reunion. Lou was a supervisor with S.N.E.T. Co., retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Lou loved golf, bowling, warm weather and time spent with friends. He was an active member of Tashua Knolls Men's Club which he had served as President. A best friend of many, he enjoyed travel and long trips to Florida, but his heart brought him to Virginia Beach and Cape Cod to visit his six grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving children, a daughter and son-in-law, Cori and Jeff Ketcherside of VA, a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle Louis and Elaine Cocozza of MA. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Betty Kudravy, William and Geri Tanner and Marie Cocozza, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, CT. To the Cocozza Family:
We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Cocozza's passing. He was a wonderful and corageous person. My parents were involved in a car accident a few years back and he stopped to help them...he saved them from drowning. Our family will forever be so grateful for what he did. To our friends the Cocozza family:

Our sincerest sympathies are with you as we share a small part of your enormous loss. We have such wonderful memories of Mr. Cocozza, whose infectious smile and barrel laugh were a part of our collective "SNET-Co." memories in which he played so large a part. Standing in our kitchen in Danbury, relating the stories of the cast of characters comprising the SNET teams he supervised, he never failed to "leave the audience wanting more". Our affection for him was strong and built only on those few dozen times we had the privilage to share his company. We were so sad to hear he was gone. And yet, how infinitely harder for you who knew and loved him best to say goodbye. Please accept our condolences.
