On a beautiful September morning, our beloved mother, Grammy, and Great- Grammy went to sleep with the angels. It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lucia "Sandie" Jordhamo on September 19, 2025.
Born on August 24, 1934, to Dr. William and Lucia Heeks, Sandie lived a life full of love, faith, and service. Sandie is survived by her loving husband Harry; her daughters Peggie Parniawski of Stratford, CT, and Vickie Niederhauser of Knoxville, TN; her son George Jordhamo of Hopewell Junction, NY; her sons-in-law Mike Parniawski and T. Stewart McCorkle; her daughter-in-law Susan Jordhamo; and her beloved in-laws Al Brice, Viola and Jim Bowe. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Sandie was predeceased by her sister Carol Ann Brice; her brother and sister-in-law William G. Heeks Jr. and Caroline Heeks; her brothers-in-law William "Bill" Jordhamo and Anthony "Tony" Jordhamo; and her son-in-law Cpt. Glen Niederhauser.
A celebration of Sandie's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 23rd, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1734 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, CT.
