Lynne Keane Obituary

Lynne Keane
Lynne (Greenwood) Keane, age 78, of Stratford, beloved wife of 54 years of the late Richard Keane, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Keane was born March 29, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Ernest and Marjorie (Ackroyd) Greenwood. She had been a long time Stratford resident, and more recently, a part-time resident of Little River, SC. She worked in the health care industry throughout her life, including careers at Bridgeport Hospital, United Home Care and Orthopedic Services of Bridgeport. She was a member of the Gaelic American Club and the Housatonic Boat Club. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband in Jamestown, RI, Myrtle Beach and Little River, SC, as well as their international trips to the Dominican Republic and Aruba. Mrs. Keane loved spending time with her Stratford "crew" in Connecticut and her North Myrtle Beach "family" in South Carolina. Some of Mrs. Keane's notable memories include growing up and sailing on the Housatonic River, teaching Kathryn Hepburn how to sail and dressing Jack Palance at the Stratford Shakespeare Theater. Survivors include her two sons Dennis Keane and his wife Lynn of San Diego, CA and Glenn Keane and his wife Anne of Shelton, CT; her most cherished granddaughter Kelly Anne and her significant other Cameron Barquinero of Seymour, CT; siblings, Patricia Inglis and her husband George in Alberta, Canada, Dr. Peter Greenwood and his wife Phyllis in California and Janice Fancher in Virginia, along with many special, well-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. We rejoice in knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life, Richard, and is dancing the Irish jig in heaven with all of her family and friends that greeted her upon her arrival in Heaven. Friends are invited to attend her graveside funeral service on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Union Cemetery, Temple Court, Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or Stratford Animal Rescue Society, 225 Beacon Point Road, Stratford, CT 06615. I knew Lynne for many years. I knew her from living in Stratford and I also worked at the video store at Stop & Shop so that really tells you how long I've known her. Always a kind lady...and she had the best sense of humor. Will miss seeing Lynn in and around Stratford. Much love and many blessings.

Dear Glenn and Keane Family:
We are very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. We will miss her so much, she had so many stories to tell and we felt welcomed to the neighborhood to talk to her. She would always strike up a conversation and her outgoing friendly nature will be dearly missed. May she Rest In Peace.
