M. O'Hare Obituary

SR. M. ELISE O'HARE, SSND, age 98 of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Road, Wilton (off Wolf Pitt Road) died Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Lourdes Health Care Center, Born in New York, N.Y., Sister was an administrator and middle school teacher during her 60 years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Sister had been assigned at St. Peter's, Cambridge, Mass., St. Boniface, Philadelphia, Pa., St. Joseph's Lake Ronkonoma, N.Y., St. Margaret Mary, Rochester, N.Y. and 30 years at St. Francis of Assisi Junior High, New Britain, prior to retiring to Wilton in 2004 for a slower schedule. Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Caroline Stevenson and Mrs. Barbara Gallagher of Wisconsin and Mrs. Margaret Gallagher of Rosedale, N.Y.; two nephews, Jeffrey and Christopher Gallagher of Rosedale, N.Y.; and two close friends with whom she resided in New Britain, Sr. Marie Denise Murphy and Sr. Miriam McGuire of St. Francis of Assisi Convent. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the SSND Villa Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends invited, Bracken-Donovan-Spodnick, Bridgeport directing. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Memorial to SSND Mission Advancement Fund, Wilton, CT 06897 will be appreciated. Visiting Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service Monday at 7 p.m.
