Margaret Hicks Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Hicks
July 10, 1939 - August 11, 2025
Margaret "Midge" Hicks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Monroe, Connecticut, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old.
Born on July 10, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Midge was the cherished daughter of Anne and James "Ted" Hunniford. From her earliest years, she exhibited warmth, generosity, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her.
Midge's life was one of faith, family, and friends. She was devoted to her family and her friends, and her kindness and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the welcoming aroma of home-cooked meals and, of course, her famous desserts. She was known as the family communicator and faithfully kept in-touch with family and friends both near and far.
A woman of deep faith, Midge found comfort and strength in her relationship with the Lord. Her unwavering belief guided her through life's joys and challenges, and she was a source of inspiration and comfort to many.
Midge is survived by her beloved family and many friends whose lives were enriched by her presence. She will be remembered for her wisdom, her gentle humor, and her boundless love.
She has now gone home to be with her Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd, Trumbull. Her family requests that in-lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to Compassion International, Calvary Evangelical Free Church of Trumbull CT's Missions Fund or a charity of your choice.

Aunt Midge was just a delight! I remember her dimpled smile and her melodic laugh that was so contagious. There were many family gatherings when I was young and all the aunts and uncles would be joking, laughing and pranking each other. She was full of love and kindness. Although she is greatly missed she leaves behind a phenomenal legacy of faith and service. I so look forward to our family reunion in Heaven!

I love and miss you Aunt Midge. I can hear your laughter within me. There are untold hours of family get-togethers with so many memories. I remember your upbeat optimism, strength, determinism, and hard work throughout your life.

Steve and Lisa, your mom was a bright light of love in our family. May you find comfort as you remember your precious, loving mom. I'll always treasure her in my own heart.
