Maria De Marco Obituary

Maria (Mary) Vecchiarelli De Marco passed away unexpectedly in Italy on March 13, 2022.
Mary was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 26, 1941 to the late Angelo and Apollonia (Mastroianni) Vecchiarelli. She graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport and worked for the United Illuminating Company for several years prior to relocating to Brooklyn, NY.
On October 8,1966 she married Giovanni (John) De Marco and resided in Brooklyn, NY where John, his brother Dominic, and friend Frank Farina owned and operated the widely acclaimed Di Fara Pizzeria.
They moved to Curti, Caserta, Italy for what was to be a brief period but remained there permanently. Mary dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family putting their needs ahead of any consideration for herself. She always remained true to the US by celebrating National Holidays and having her children grow up embracing them as well. Mary loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed vacation trips to the mountains of Villa Santa Croce to be with relatives and friends as well as the ocean beach at beautiful Amalfi. She also enjoyed visiting the many churches in Italy and the museums. Her joy was being with her children and grandchildren making them happy.
Survivors include four children and four grandchildren: son Alexander De Marco (PhD Computer Science) and daughter Lisa Jasmine: and three daughters: Angela; Gina and Gennaro Trotta and daughter, Maria Josephine; and Giovanna and Francesco Ardovino and children Alyssa and Aniello. Other survivors include Mary's twin brothers Peter (Lucy) and Stephen (Barbara deceased) Vecchiarelli, as well as several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins in the US and Italy.
Mary was predeceased by John's parents and brothers-in-law Alexander De Marco and Dominic De Marco (3-16-2022). All services were held in Italy.
