Maria Tiago Obituary

TIAGO Maria (Ribas) Tiago, age 86, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 9, 2007 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Padroso, Portugal, on January 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria Alves Pio Ribas, and was a Bridgeport resident for 21 years. Mrs. Tiago was the beloved wife of the late Antonia Alves Tiago. Survivors include her beloved family three sons, Jose Tiago and his wife, Isabel, of Bridgeport, Antonio Tiago and his wife, Fernanda, of Massachusetts, and Fernando Tiago and his wife, Judy, of Trumbull; her loving grandchildren, John, Joe Fernando Jr., Danny, Anabela, Susana and Angela; her cherished and loving great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Sophie and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Jose Ribas; two sisters, Julia Alves and Matilde Moura. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 8 a.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, and at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in St. Michael Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
