Sister Marie Anna Moltz, SSND
Sister Marie Anna Moltz, a School Sister of Notre Dame, died at The Watermark, Bridgeport, Connecticut, on June 9, 2024, at age 102. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 8, 1921. After pronouncing her vows in 1942, she began her teaching ministry in Baltimore, and later served as teacher and principal at schools in New York, at Pougkeepsie, Albany, South Glens Falls, and Brooklyn; in Rutland, Vermont; and in New Jersey, at Irvington, Secaucus and Springfield. In the 1970s, she was a member of the Graduate School Faculty at Seton Hall University, South Orange. In St. James Parish, Springfield, Sister was Pastoral Minister to the Elderly from 2001 to 2007. In her retirement at Villa Notre Dame, Wilton, Sister served the community with decorative stitchery until 2021 when the community moved to The Watermark where she continued this work that she enjoyed.
A Wake Service starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by a prayer service at 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, 2024 in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel.
