Mark Meuser Obituary

Meuser, Mark V.
Mark Vincent Meuser, age 57, a longtime resident of Fairfield, died at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford on Thursday, November 10, 2016.
Mr. Meuser was born in Bridgeport on May 25, 1959 to the late Joseph and Arlene Meuser and was a graduate of Darrow School, Class of 1977. He attended Tulane University and Fairfield University, and during his time in New Orleans developed a love for its music and cooking that sustained him through his life. While in New Orleans he discovered the first love of his life, his dog Banjo, who provided countless hours of company and immeasurable love to him as he made his way in the world. Mark's love of animals was recognized by anyone who knew him, and the canine world lost a true friend upon his passing. He learned to love the outdoors through the Boy Scouts, where he enjoyed numerous camping and hiking trips with his brother Joseph and his father, and through countless ski trips to Vermont with his family and friends. Memories of Quechee with family and friends were a constant in his life and provided great comfort to him. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was especially fond of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by two brothers, Christopher Meuser and his wife, Kelly, of Simsbury and Attorney Craig Meuser and his wife, Ellen, of Simsbury; a sister-in-law, Susan Meuser Sherrick of Stratford; seven cherished nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Joseph III, Megan, Caitlin, Ashley, Christopher and Patrick; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph E. Meuser, Arlene S. Meuser and his brother, Attorney Joseph E. Meuser, Jr.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 9:30 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Nicholas Pavia followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to the charity of one's choice in Mr. Meuser's memory. Dear Craig, Chris and Family,

I'm sorry to hear of Mark's passing. It has been years since I have seen him, but at hearing his name, I immediately see that wonderful, bright smile and goofy bemused look that crossed his face when he enjoyed something happening around him.

Sorry for your loss and remember the smile.
