Mary M. Kozej, 76, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of the late John Kozej. Mary was born in Bridgeport on July 2, 1945 to the late Otto and Marjorie Kinder Pfannkuch.
Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her pride and joy was her granddaughter. She would light up when she came to visit and say "there's my baby." She had a love for baking, decorating for the holidays especially Christmas with every room in her home decked out and for shopping. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary was also the strongest and most courageous woman you could have known. She never gave up and fought with dignity to the end.
Mary is survived by her three daughters: Gheri Kozej, Stefanie Kozej and her partner Bill Madelung, and Megan Kozej; granddaughter Brianna Madelung; brother Kurt Pfannkuch and his wife Eivor; brother Bob Pfannkuch and his wife Jill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank The Connecticut Hospice Home Care nurses, aides, social workers and our aides for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Michelle, Tina, Debbie, Jen and Lynette for being "Our Rock."
A memorial service will be held on June 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
