Mary Joan Marus
Mary Joan Marus, 92, of Shelton and formerly of Stratford, beloved wife of Richard Marus, peacefully passed away on October 21, 2025. Born on September 1, 1933, in Bridgeport, to the late Victor and Elizabeth (Michlovich) Wolski, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Mary Joan graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing and retired from Roncali Health Care Center. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard, and her children: Joel Marus, Lisa Fortier (Jerry), Christina Rottkamp, and Keith Marus (Celine). She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Nicole Fortier (Joshua), Justin Fortier, Tyler and Nicholas Rottkamp, along with her sister, Theresa Kuba, and several nieces and nephews. Mary Joan was predeceased by her parents; and siblings: Katherine Oxberry, Beatrice Kennell, Bernard Wolski, and Elizabeth Rabatin. She enjoyed arts and crafts, music, painting, puzzles, Mahjong, and traveling with her husband. Funeral services will be private and have been entrusted to Adzima Funeral Home in Stratford.
