Maureen Rhatigan Obituary

RHATIGAN Maureen McBride Rhatigan, age 72, of Milford, beloved wife of the late late Arthur E. Rhatigan, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Maureen was born in Bridgeport, on July 7, 1935, daughter of the late Bernard and Kathleen McCann McBride. Survivors include her children, Mark Rhatigan of New York, Arthur E. Rhatigan, Jr. and wife, Suzanne Kennard of Fairfield, and Eileen Rule and husband, Johnson of Woodbridge; five grandchildren, Mark Rhatigan of Guilford, Elizabeth and Shannon Rule of Woodbridge, and John and Grace Rhatigan of Fairfield; her sister Kathleen Walsh and husband, Edward, of Stratford, her twin sister, Margaret Fitzgerald and husband, Jack of Stratford; and her sister-in-law, Amelia McBride of Trumbull; 20 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John McBride. Maureen graduated from St. Vincent Nursing School and worked at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport, first as an ICU nurse then as a Nursing Supervisor. She will be missed for her sharp wit, her loyalty, and her willingness to help out anyone at any time. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 8:45 a.m. meeting directly in St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Those who so desire may make contribution in Maureen's memory to the St. Vincent's School of Nursing, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
