Michael Meszaros Obituary
Michael Meszaros MD, age 49, of Westport, beloved husband of Mary Atkinson Meszaros, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 2, 2016.
In addition to Mary, his loving wife of 22 years, Michael will be remembered as the adored father of Michael, John and Katherine Meszaros; endearing son of Karolina Meszaros; cherished brother of Joseph Meszaros and his wife Lorraine, Caroline Kaufmann and her husband Albert and Christian Meszaros and his wife Jeanette; embraced brother-in-law of Thomas Atkinson and his wife Jennifer and Jane Gajwani and her husband Sachin; and the cool uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Meszaros.
Raised in Lynbrook, New York, Michael was a graduate of the University of Scranton, Adelphi University, and Boston University before receiving his medical doctorate from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. After completing his residency and fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and his surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, he joined Advanced Radiology, where he was a partner.
An avid outdoors man, Michael enjoyed skiing, fishing, running, biking, and especially, cheering on his children's team sports. He had a quick engaging way with people, and couldn't resist entering into political banter. Michael touched many people throughout his life and will be greatly missed as a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother in law, uncle, friend, partner, and dedicated physician.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. On Tuesday at 11 AM, his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Luke Church, 49 Turkey Hill Road North, in Westport. His interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

I have to have spinal injections for my bad back, and I always asked for Dr. Meszaros to do the procedure. I trusted him totally. He also had a great sense of humor, and always made me laugh. I will miss him when I have my next injection this month, but I will never forget him. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was one of his residents at Bridgeport Hospital. He was an excellent physician and teacher, above all a great person. I miss his sharp sense of humor and the historical snippets. Thank you for everything Dr. Meszaros.

I worked with Dr Meszaros at ARC. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. We were both from LI and I used to love our chats about it. He was a very awesome and cool rad and he will be missed by all. Our sons were friends in middle school and I coached him in intramural basketball for one year. I enjoyed the conversations with Michael, he was always interesting, upbeat and smiling. Always smiling. I thought if our lives weren't so busy that we could have become great friends, that's how he struck me. I am saddened to hear of the loss and I know the large void it creates. He was a great husband and proud parent. Please acceot my deepest sympathy in this time of mourning.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden death of your husband.I knew him from Short Stay at St Vincents. He was not only technically outstanding but he was very kind to the patients ,he always put them at ease. He was equally pleasant to the nurses.
