Murray Weiss Obituary

WEISS Murray Weiss, age 86, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Waterbury Hospital. Mr. Weiss was born in Bronx, N.Y., a son of the late Max and Anna (Grad) Weiss, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy as a First Lieutenant. Mr. Weiss was a graduate of New York University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Weiss was a vice president with the Benrus Watch Company, in charge of personnel and industrial relations. He was appointed to the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration in 1981 by Governor William A. O'Neill. Mr. Weiss was also an avid golfer and achieved a hole in one. Mr. Weiss was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara S. Weiss; and is survived by his loving wife, Liselotte Kiselstein Weiss of Bridgeport; his devoted daughter, Alison Peck and her husband, Dr. Brian Peck, of Middlebury; his cherished grandchildren, Erin Leigh Peck and her husband, Josh Penner, Dr. Devin Peck; and his adored great-granddaughter, Mia Bobbe Penner. Mr. Weiss is also survived by his sisters, Miriam Monches and Wilma Gluck, both of Westchester, N.Y.; and his sister-in-law, Ann Weiss of Sunrise, Fla. Mr. Weiss is also survived by his extended family, Judy and Peter Zeidel of Trumbull, Michael and Margie Zeidel, Rachel and Daniel Richer, Andrew Jacob Zeidel, Jack Glaser Zeidel, Max Simson Richer, Judy Kiselstein of Fairfield, and Marc Kiselstein. He was predeceased by a brother, Irving Weiss and a sister, Sylvia Weiss. Funeral services will take place on Monday (TODAY) October 17, 2005, at 10 a.m. at The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, in Fairfield, with interment following at the Melchi-Zedek Cemetery on Plank Road in Waterbury. A shiva minyan will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the home of Alison and Brian Peck 200 North Farm Road, in Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.

My Uncle Murray was an exceptional human being. He was kind, patient and loving. He always looked on the positive side of life and made the most of every day. All of us whose lives he touched in some way are fortunate for having known him. He will be greatly missed.
