Nicholas William Cardell
Nicholas William Cardell, of Stratford, CT, passed away on October 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Nick was 92 years old. He was the loving husband of Marion S. Cardell, who predeceased him on September 8, 2024. The couple met on a blind date and were later married in 1954. They first lived in Norwalk, CT, and then settled in Westport, CT to begin their lives together and raise their family of five children. They celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary in 2024.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Nick was the son of the late Nicholas and Yolanda, and was predeceased by his sister, Claire Skidd. Nick lived in Stamford, Greenwich, and then moved to Darien, CT where he graduated from Darien High School. Nick then served his country in the U.S. Army. He later graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Marketing.
After graduating from college, Nick began his career as a Systems Analyst and Programmer at Radio Corporation of America (RCA). Next, he joined Bunker Ramo Corporation, a provider of information systems for the banking and securities industries, eventually rising to the position of Vice President & General Manager, Industry and Product Marketing. Later, Nick founded Kensington Homes Ltd., a residential construction company.
Nick was a devoted husband and father, always making sure that his wife and children were provided for and taken care of before he was. Despite the demands of his career, Nick was very involved with his family, taking his family on vacations every summer, coaching their athletic teams, attending many dance and piano recitals, and spending time boating with them. He loved being on the water with his family. Nick enjoyed many other activities, including tennis, skiing, fishing, dancing, and in his younger days, ice hockey.
Nick is survived by his five children; Pamela Williams (Al), Mary Ellen DiJulio (Paul), Christopher Cardell (Sheila), Ann Leonard (Vinnie), and Catherine Cardell. He is also survived by his niece, Judy DiPasquale, 12 beloved grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Riverview Bistro, 946 Ferry Blvd, Stratford. CT, with a visiting hour from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a memorial service and lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We love Dad and we will miss him every day, but it is comforting to know that he is now together again with his beloved wife, Marion, where he belongs. Together, they are peacefully watching over all of us. Dad always worried about all of us, but he can take solace knowing that we will take care of each other.
