Oswaldo Suarez Obituary

SUAREZ Oswaldo Suarez, age 72, of Stratford and Florida, cherished husband of 48 years to Issel Meizoso Suarez, died on Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Bishop Wicke Health Care Center, Shelton. Born in Jovellano Matanzas, Cuba, he was the son of the late Juan and Isabel Fagundo Suarez. A Connecticut resident for more than 48 years, he was a retired self-employed contractor operating under the name of Wally's Tile Co. A veteran of the Korean War he served in the Army. A founder and life long member of the Cuban Lyceum of Bridgport. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. Survivors in addition to his wife, Issel; a son, Oswaldo B. Suarez and his wife, Sylvia, of Stratford; three daughters, Antionette DeCarlo and her husband, Michael of Trumbull, Barbrianne Rodriguez and her husband, Otoniel of Miami, Fla., Elizabeth Suarez; and family in Cuba; seven grandchildren, Aviel, Yanessa and Arianna Suarez, Alessandro and Elan Paolo DeCarlo Gabriella and Gianna Rodriguez; and two sisters, Carmen and Isabel Suarez; and two brothers, Hector Suarez and Silvio Suarez and his wife, Francisca. He was predeceased by a grandson, Gian Gabriel DeCarlo; brothers, Delio, Juan and Orlando Suarez; sister, Arcadia Suarez. Friends are invited to go "Directly" to Our Lady of Grace Church, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. where a Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, has been entrusted with the funeral services.
