Patricia Loux Obituary

LOUX Patricia (Patty) Gail Ellison Loux, age 55 of Stratford, the beloved wife of Lawrence (Larry) Loux and devoted mother of Eric and Cara, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. A graduate of Trumbull High School, she attended Sacred Heart University and graduated from the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School of Norwalk. She worked in Chicago as executive secretary to the president of the Joint Commission of Hospital Accreditation. For 15 years she was the Parish Center Office Manager at St. James Church in Stratford. Patty's life was guided by love, love of God, her family and community. She served as president of Nichols School PTA for several years and was most proud of her initiation of the Read-Aloud Program there. She was a key member of the Stratford High School Post Prom Committee for seven years, where she also served as Band Parent President. She was a member of the Booster Club. Since childhood, she loved music and shared that love with her son, Eric. They guided each other to a greater level of appreciation and collection of music. Pat was named coach of the year in 2002 by the Connecticut High School Gymnastics, coaching her daughter to be a two time National High School All-American. She was a tireless Barnum Festival Volunteer for 20 years. Patty and her entire family worked on many events over the years, even chairing this year's President's Float with the theme "Volunteers Rock." Pat was committed to her life's work at St. James. One of the most thrilling honors of her life was being presented with the Diocese of Bridgeport's Saint Augustine Medal of Service Award by Bishop Lori. During Pat's journey with cancer, she was a mentor and guardian angel to many other cancer patients, especially at Oncology Associates of Bridgeport in Fairfield. Patty and family are forever grateful for the doctors and nurses there, especially Dr. Harrold and nurses, Renee, Faye and Sally. Special thanks to Bridgeport Hospital 7th Floor Phriem Center Staff who were so wonderful. In addition to her devoted husband Larry, she is also survived by one son, Eric Loux and one daughter, Cara Loux, both of Stratford; her dad, John P. Ellison of Shelton; one sister, Marge Cunningham and her husband, Mel of Monroe; one brother, Bill Ellison and his wife, Jean of Ansonia; as well as her many adoring nieces and nephews who knew her as AP. She was also predeceased by her mother, Margaret Beattie Ellison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Patty Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Sunday June 28, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Patricia E. Loux Memorial Track and Field Scholarship Fund. Checks may be payable to the Galello Funeral Home. Friends are also invited to bring pictures to display during visiting hours. " Your special song for me was 'Let's Go, Pat'. There is darkness for you, and light for me, but I now hold the light over you. You now have to continue the journey and not be sad. Go in happiness. Buffalo Bill & Jean'
there are times in life where we seek answers to questions that are simply unexplained. Claire and I send, without revocation, our saddened and couragious respect for your sister/sister in law's supreme battle of life. I have asked MY Orthodox priest to place your sister on the prayer list - may she rest in the womb of the Lord

June 29, 2009

Buffalo Bill and Jean - there are really no words to describe the loss of a sibling Bill. Your support of your sister and friend, during a valiant defiance of life is commendable to say the least. Our prayers and wishes to her family; and those who gave everything in terms of support define THE family role model. She resides in the Garden of Angels and she will forever be remembered by those who loved/cared/and were so gracious to have experienced Her - Jeff and Claire

To the family of Pat Loux,
Please accept our sincere sympathy. Pat's passing will be hard for all who knew her in this world, but a privilege to have come in contact as long as we did with such a very lovely person. I will always remember her kindness and cleverness. If there is work to be done in heaven…Pat will lead the way! With love and our deepest sympathy, Friends from St. James Parish, Stratford.

June 28, 2009

Dear Larry, Margie, Eric, Cara....Please accept these words of heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Pat. She will always be remembered as a tribute and model to her family, friends, church, and community. It was Pat who greeted me in August 1990 with her infectious smile, warm ways, and serving hands when I arrived at Nichols School. Larry and Pat were always there when a need arose and met those needs of the PTA continuously and unselfishly. I know without a doubt a version of the Read Aloud program will await us all when we see Pat again.

To Larry, Cara and Eric:
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I only knew Pat a short time but she impacted my life tremendously. Her spirit and courage and faith continued to amaze me through this latest journey. She will be sorely missed by so many people. She was a little person with a BIG heart and soul and put everything into all that she did. I worked with her on one of the SHS after proms and her energy amazed me. I also was honored to work with her at St. James and have corresponded via email since my move to Florida. As a fellow cancer survivor she often talked to me late at night on the computer, always offering hope and faith and mostly courage....I am so sorry. God bless you all and may God lift you up through these difficult times.

Dear Family,
My friendship with Pat came through are membership in St. James Parish. We became close through our shared illness. I admired Pat's strength and Faith which helped keep me strong. We shared lots of laughter especially when I became completely bald and admired how nicely her hair had come back. With the humor that only she could display she removed the wig I was admiring and we all laughed until we had tears in our eyes. This is just one of many talks and laughs we shared. May God be with you in your grief. Know that you are not alone.
Sincerely,

Cathy Betz
