Dear Carl, Rachel, Misty, Alex, and all of Paul's family,
What a shocking tragedy for you and how sad to lose Paul's physical presence in your daily lives along with his talents and zest for his family, arts, and the outdoors. His memories will live as he contributed so much to others.

Paul was a tremendously positive influence as a coach for my son's soccer team in California. He brought a joy and enthusiasm to the game from which all benefited. I'm sad to see him go.

We remember Paul always being so happy and ready to laugh. It's hard to picture him without a smile. He'd surprise us every time with a new hidden talent, whether it was having studied drama with Patrick Stewart in England, having worked with a famous chef, of having been building log cabins back in his college days. We'd joke that Paul could probably build a house without needing a single nail (like Pa in "Little House on the Prairie"). We'll cherish his memory always.
