Paul Murphy Obituary
Gates: Sunday Oct, 27, 2013 after a brief illness at age 76. Predeceased by his wife, Beverly Brooks Murphy; parents, James T. Sr. & Lucille (Perdue) Murphy; brothers, James T. Jr. & Alan Murphy.
He is survived by his children, Steven C. Murphy and Tamara (Alan) Rodgers; grandchildren, Steven & Jillian Murphy, Brandon & Brittany Rodgers and Alan Smith; siblings, Barbara Rigsbee, Brenda (Robert) Jackson, Alfretta Shaw & Tony Murphy; special brother-in-law, Edward (Queenie) Brooks; brothers-in-law, Robert (Lucille) Brooks, Roger Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dear friend, Dorothy Breedlove; loyal canine companion, Jordyn.
Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the RG&E Corp. after many years of service. He served the Greater Rochester Area and the Gates Community in many facets. He touched many people and will be sorely missed.
Friends may call THURSDAY 4:00-7:00 p.m. at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd. Gates. On Friday, Nov. 1 all are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 549 Clarissa St. (viewing from 10:00-11:00 a.m.) Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Missing you so much Papa. You are never forgotten. I know you're looking down on us all, i just wish you were here to meet my babies. You have my girls up there with you . I love you and one day we will all be together again. Every now and then we still cheers to your quote, " Friends are friends, Family are friends, And friends are family also." So many other quotes of yours that we still remember you by, and we'll randomly share with each other. You for sure were one of a kind, unforgettable. It still feels like "yesterday" (in my papa singing voice)

To the Murphy Families:
I worked with Paul for many years at RG&E and am saddened by his passing. I have known the Murphy family all of my life, also living next store to the Murphy family on Bradburn Street. Robbie and Tad were like big brothers to me very close friends with my brothers and sisters. I also send my deepest sympathy to Jamie, Michelle, Cheryl, Carla and Tony as well as all others.
Paul was a wonderful person. We had some great laughs over the years. I am keeping you all in prayer. Rest in peace Paul. You will truly be missed by many.
