Landon Perry Lind, a.k.a Perry Lind, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, passed away on November 22, 2022, at the age of 86. A native of Vallejo, California, he is survived by his children, Terry, Donna, Jeffrey and Clifford; his first wife, Alice; his wife, Martha; and his grandchildren, Star La Vie, Christopher, Jeffrey, Dawn, Nicole, Kyle and Shawn. Perry was a lifelong lover of music and performer on the upright bass, as well as a composer and teacher. During his 72-year career he performed with a number of jazz luminaries, including Mel Torme, Elvin Jones, Nancy Wilson, Dakota Staton, Lee Konitz, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, as well as countless local musicians. He played from the heart and was known for his beautiful tone, his bowed solos, and his "true ear" which gave him the ability to play the perfect note in every musical situation. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
