Peter Panicali Obituary
Peter Joseph Panicali, age 75, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, after a long illness. Born December 2, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Panicali. Peter was a well-known professional drummer during the years he was able to work, including with the Billy Maxted Orchestra, Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey Circus, and Bill Baker's Five Satins. He enjoyed his beloved family: twin sisters Charlene Curcio and Angela (Robert J.) Auddino; his nephews, Robert A. (Sarah) Auddino, Christopher Auddino, Robert (Laura) Curcio, and the late Charles (Raesha) Curcio. Peter had three great-nieces, Hannah Auddino and Siena and Avery Curcio; and one great-nephew Jaxson Curcio. Peter also leaves behind many life-long best friends and colleagues. The family would especially like to thank Glenn Mariconda and Al Ferrante for their friendship and support.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 17, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

I met Peter when he was 12 years old thru a high school friend who raved about his drumming skills. I recommended him to my friend Jack Kelly who hired Pete immediately for his band. Later in my musical career I played in a few bands with him. He was a good friend for many years and a gentle man.

So sorry to hear my life long friend Pete passed. Though I haven´t seen him in years, I have thought of him often. I´ve known Pete since he was 12 years old when I recommended him to one of my friends who was starting his first rock band. As a result they worked many gigs together for many years during the late 50´s and early 60´s. Pete was a talented drummer even at that young age. We also played together in a commercial jazz band in the middle 60´s and he substituted a few times with my band Friends throughout the years. A great guy always! May he rest in peace.

Charlene and Angela, so sorry to here of Peter's passing. I can remember hearing him practicing every day from down the street. A loss to the world.

So saddened to hear of Pete's passing. I still have memories of Pete, Me and Glenn Mericonda practicing our drums in Glenn's basement. Pete was an excellent drummer and will be missed.

To the Family I am sorry to here about Peter. He was my best friend in High School. I remember when I would go to his house in Stratford and watch him play the drums. He was a great musician. MAY HE REST IN PEACE AND GOOD BLESS HIM
