My father told me that if in our lifetime we had 5 friends we were blessed. I was blessed with Puri. We all were. She was friend first, then physician, but most of all she was compassionate and caring and loving and never judgemental. Our hearts are full with memories and we will always miss her.

Dear Friends:

Puri was a very dear and special person and her passing has been very difficult for all who knew her. Our family would like to thank all of you so much for attending the viewing and memorial services, for all the cards, phone calls, visits, flowers, food and prayers and for especially sharing your thoughts and memories of her. You don’t know how much of a comfort they have been to our family. We’ve laughed, cried and marveled at your stories. We knew she had touched many lives over the years, but you’ve filled us in with many details we never would have known about if you hadn’t cared enough to share them. They will keep the memory of Puri burning stronger in our hearts in the days and years ahead. Thank you so much.

Puri was a superb doctor and mentor, but as you can testify, she had a loving heart, who touched everyone she met in so many special ways. Please know that she cherished your friendship more than even the most precious of gems. That’s the type of person she was. So again, thank you so much for your kindnesses and please keep in touch. We’ll be also placing another thank you in the Post that will come out this Sunday.

With love,

The family of Puri

P.S. Mary and Marianne, thanks for tipping us off about this guestbook!

To Chay Len, & All the Family of Dr. Pua,

Please accept our condolences for the loss of your Aunt & a great doctor. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. There’s so little one can say or do at a time like this. Thankfully, you and your family have the support of great and wonderful friends, who have you in their warmest of thoughts and can be your pillar of strength during these difficult times.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows". (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

God bless you & your family,

I referred several family members and friends to her, and all sang her praises. It was also a great pleasure to encounter her at the symphony and the opera, and I often discussed music with her during my office visits.

To the Family and friends of Purification Pua, I offer my deepest condolences. I had the privilege to work with Puri when I was a resident physician and later as a colleague at Ob/Gyn of Fairfield County. She was a superb teacher and model physician. Her optimism and skill made her a pleasure to work with. Everyone who knew Puri, both liked and admired her. While her death is to be mourned, her life was well led and that should be celebrated. Her goodness lives on in the lives she touched.
