Rachela Welkes

WELKES Rachela Welkes, age 86 of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Henoch Welkes, died Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Hewitt Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Welkes was born in Russia and was an area resident for the past 36 years. She was retired from Bridgeport Hospital after 10 years of service and continued as a volunteer at the hospital for an additional five years. Rachela will forever be remembered by her family and friends as fun loving BABCIA. Mrs. Welkes is survived by her children, Jacob Welkes of Milford, Regina Murzynski of Tampa, Fla., Morris Welkes of Seymour, Elka Geavela of Oxford, and their spouses; a brother, Fima Lerner; and sister, Rosa Lerner, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and by seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield.
