Richard Lape Obituary

LAPE Richard A. "Dick" Lape, age 74 of Florence, Ala., passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce (Dellaca) Lape. Mr. Lape was born June 2, 1935 to Chester and Naomi Lape in Waterloo, N.Y. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Lape, (husband Edward Joyce) and granddaughter, Emily Joyce of Derby; his daughter, Penny (Lape) Fredrick, (husband Shane Fredrick); and step-granddaughters, Julie and Lisa Fredrick of Shelburne, N.H.; his step-son, John Everett, (wife Lisa Everett); and step-grandchildren, John and Taylor Everett of North Richfield, Texas; his step-daughter, Colleen (Everett) Stanley, (husband Bill Stanley) and step-grandsons, Bill Jr., Jack, Josh and Matthew Stanley of Danbury; and his step-daughter, Kelly (Everett) Michaud, (husband Pierre Michaud) and step-grand-children, Cloe and Alex Michaud of East Greenwich, RI. He retired from the Purchasing Department of the City of Norwalk in 1997. He served as president of the International Management Council, Finger Lakes Chapter (1972 to 73) and was president of The National Exchange Club in Trumbull (1990). He was a charter member of The National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. (1994), member of the Public Purchasing Association of CT (1989 to 1994) and National Association of Purchasing Management. He enjoyed spending his free time building radio-controlled model airplanes and cars, playing tripoley and dining out with friends, computers and enjoying retired life with Joyce and his four-legged friend, Reba. Calling hours will be Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will take place Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
