Robert Hare Obituary

Robert J. "Mickey" Hare
Robert James "Mickey" "Bob" Hare, 91, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Julia Ann Giampaolo Hare, passed away on November 14, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on January 26, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Ann Pavia Hare. Mickey was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and continued his education at Fairfield University. As a United States Army veteran, he was honored with multiple awards for his exceptional shooting abilities. A proud "Bridgeporter" and even prouder "East Ender," many remember him as the owner and operator of Park City Hearing Aid, the business he founded in 1969, which continues to thrive today. Remarkably, Bob, as his customers called him, remained actively involved in the business, going to work each day until very recently. Mickey and Julie married on November 3, 1956, and moved from Bridgeport to Monroe in the early 1960s to raise their family. With two young sons who were passionate about sports, Mickey became deeply involved in the local athletic community. He contributed as both a coach and administrator in Little League Baseball, Monroe Youth Basketball, and Pop Warner Football. His dedication to his community extended further, as he took on roles within the Monroe Recreation Department and the Lake Zoar Authority. He also sponsored a slow pitch softball team, and even participated in games himself well into his 50s. As those who knew him would expect, the team was well known for its memorable end-of-season party.
Mickey is survived by his children and their spouses: Gary and Christine Hare, Brian and Linda Hare, and Beth and Ralph Pisani. He leaves behind grandchildren: Melanie (John) Marullo, Matthew (Noelle) Hare, Taylor (Joseph Makrai) Hare, and Morgan (Thomas) Milone, Shawn (Katie) Polke, Melissa (Chris) Johnson, Thomas (Casey) Pisani, Nicole (David) Jandreau; great-granddaughters, Jaymie and Jade Stec, Autumn, Brianna and Maci Johnson; and great-grandsons, Colton Johnson and Jameson Jandreau. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Shirley Giampaolo, and Ray and Sue Senes; numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren; his longtime business partner and close friend, Pat Gerety; as well as friends of his sons and daughter, whom he and Julie regarded as family. In addition to Julie, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Bill; sister, Barbara; brother-in-law, Bob Alechnowicz; brother and sister-in-law, James "Mindy" and Rita Olayos; and daughter-in-law, Beth Hare. To his family and friends, Mick was someone you could always depend on for anything. To his children, he was both a father and a mentor. To his beloved late wife, Julie, he was her steadfast rock. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was their Poppa. All who knew him loved him and enjoyed his company. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the team at Lord Chamberlain for their dedication in ensuring Mickey's comfort during his final days.
Hey Mick – Stanley, Sal, Little Mikey, Ray, Vinnie, Donnie, Phil, Joe, Chick, Norm, and the rest of the Friday happy hour crew have saved you a seat!

My heartfelt condolences to the family. having hearing aides since 1962, I have had Bob as my hearing aide guy for the last 25 years+. Bob and I always had some really good conversations during my visit. He knew all the hearing aide people dating back to my first guy in downtown Bridgeport during the 1960's. He knew the meaning of personal service and treated all who visited with a warmth and kindness not seen much anymore. Im glad that I was able to visit him just a few weeks ago though he was not well. Patty G. Thanks for your kindness to him and to the clients in the office. To the family Your Dad was a joy to chat with. May God provide you all the Grace That your Dad provided us with. Godspeed ol friend. Definitely gonna miss stopping in and looking at those pleasure beach photos in the notebook on the coffee table while waiting for You. Take Care..... :) from Bigs
