Rudolph Danowski Obituary

Rudolph "Rudy" J. Danowski
Rudolph "Rudy" Joseph Danowski, age 90, beloved husband of Lillian V. Danowski of Oxford, died peacefully on May 11, 2018 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Derby on December 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Anton and Theresa Danowski. A graduate of Yale University, Mr. Danowski founded Automation Controls & Welder Corp. that was in operation in Derby for more than 50 years. His passion for and operation of his family business continued until the time of his illness. Known for his lighthearted spirit and quick wit, Rudy was endeared to many. He enjoyed golfing in his younger years and his Oxford home in the woods brought him great joy for the past 61 years. Mr. Danowski served as the trustee of his sister's foundation, the Jane D. Weiss Family Foundation, which benefits medical research, education and community organizations. In addition to his beloved wife and soulmate of 63 years, he is survived by a son Randolph Danowski of Guilford; daughters, Beth Falcone of NC and Holly Danowski of Cheshire; and precious granddaughters, Morgan and Haley, and daughter-in-law, Dale Danowski of Shelton. He was predeceased by brothers, Dr. Thaddeus Danowski and Edwin Danowski; and sisters, Polly Sellers, Mildred Blake and Jane D. Weiss. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many business associates and personal friends who will miss him dearly. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jane D. Weiss Family Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
