Sally's untimely passing has left me sad but also thankful that I knew her. She and I had exchanges that invariably brightened my day at work. She would make wry, humorous remarks about topics that included her cat Miss Kitty that I would always enjoy, particularly since I have a cat named Sally. My heart goes out to her husband Jerry whom I had the pleasure of meeting once and to whom she was obviously completely devoted.

"Shock" is the word expressed by many of us. I remember Sally so well as the smiling wit who never failed to make my life more interesting every time I entered our humble little studio in the basement of the library. She was the spirit of the place, and I too am shocked, saddened, and diminished by her passing.
My thoughts to her family.

Sally was one of the kindest and caring people that I had ever met in my life. While a student at Quinnipiac, I had the pleasure of working with Sally every morning. The memories of the fun times in the morning and the life lessons she had taught me will never be forgotten. I can remember the countless morning conversations she had with her husband that she loved so much making sure he was set for the day. Thank you Sally for all the great memories and the wisdom that you taught me. You will never be forgotten.

To everyone who has shared their fond thoughts and memories of Sally, thank you. Your kind words and thoughtfulness have let us know that Sally was important in your life, and that she had a wonderful and positive impact on a wide circle of friends. It is our hope that you will continue to remember Sally, perhaps through a witty comment you may hear, through a great recipe you might share, or even through a funny email you may receive. We loved our sister dearly, and knowing that she was so fondly remembered has helped us through this difficult time.
Many thanks from her sisters,
Debbie, Andrea, Priscilla, and Jennifer

I feel as though a light has been turned off. Oh, Sally...I am so very glad we got to know one another away from the group. You will never know how much happiness our chats gave me...When I put your ornaments on the tree this year I will say a Christmas prayer for you...? ...one suggestion...when the good Lord speaks stay in the room until the conversation is really over. He's loving and patient but I don't think he would appreciate hit and run chatting like in EPI....ya know? lol Love you, girl.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Sally. We spent many good conversations about the town of Dubuque, which she was so interested in because of her ancestors. It is indeed such a shame to lose such a good person at such an early age.
Sincerely,
George and Mary Cary

I will miss Sally tnhough I've never met her in person. We were online Epicurious friends who graduated to Facebook. She has over the years given me excellent pertinent advice which has helped me through some difficult times. I'll always remember her as the colorful "bird lady" of wise counsel and wise cracks.RIP. I am shocked and saddened by the news of Sally's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Sally at QU as a student. She was one reason I cried when leaving the STAR program for the last time. Always there to when I came back to visit with a smile and curious what I was up to. A true kind hearted lady. I know she has touched many others throughout her life and will be missed greatly. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

Even though I never met you in "person"...our years chatting together in Epicurious made me think of you as a very special friend. You will be missed so much for your humor and most of all for the many "menus" you posted for us. God Bless You Sally

Sally was one of the first people to welcome me when I joined Fairchild Wheeler Women's golf league back in the 80s. We had so much fun playing golf together over the years. It's hard to believe she's left us at such an young age. May God be with you and watch over your family during this difficult time. You will be missed.
