Stephen R. Boncek

BONCEK Stephen R. Boncek, age 70 of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010 in his home. Born and raised in New Haven to the late John and Bertha Murzen Boncek, he resided in East Haven and Fairfield before moving to Bridgeport 20 years ago. Stephen worked for Printed Circuits Unlimited for many years before retiring and coached little league baseball. He was a former member of the Ukrainian Club of Southport. Stephen enjoyed fresh water fishing, clamming on the Long Island Sound, and enjoyed listening to the oldies. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Reilly, and her husband, Matthew of Shelton, and Lisa Marie Boncek of East Haven; a son, Stephen Valentino of New Haven; grandchildren, Anastasia, Matthew and Emelia Reilly; two sisters, Ann Roberts of Wakefield, Mass. and Sophie (Shelly) Struzinsky of Guilford; two brothers, Edward Boncek of West Charleston, Vt., and Randolph Boncek of East Haven; many nieces and nephews; and a long time friend, John Bencze of Bridgeport. Stephen was predeceased by his wives, Margaret Boland Boncek and Rosemarie Campo Boncek; two brothers, Chester and Richard Boncek; and a sister, Gladys Smith. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
