Suzanne M. Murphy, age 81, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Richard Murphy, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Suzanne was born in Bridgeport on June 30, 1944, to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Florek) Mitnik and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1962 and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and her master's degree and sixth-year degree from Fairfield University. Suzanne retired from the Stratford Board of Education, having taught at Bunnell High School for 38 years. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Carolyn Agoglia of Stratford, brother-in-law, John Christopher Murphy of Torrington, nephews, Michael Davis of Ellington, James Agoglia of Stratford, Jonathan Murphy and his wife Ashley of Bristol and Joshua Murphy of East Haven, and a cousin, Terry Warren of Vernon. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Suzanne was also predeceased by her sister, Barbara Davis and her husband Robert and niece, Luani Agoglia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. The Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
