Teresina Barbiero

BARBIERO Teresina Barbiero, 83, of Caulfield Road, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Vittorio C. Barbiero. Mrs. Barbiero was born in the Province of Caserta, Italy, on November 4, 1928, daughter of the late Costantino and Antonia (Caruso) DeMarco and was a Bridgeport resident for many years before moving to Torrington in 2004. She was a retired employee with Red Star, Inc. and had been a communicant of St. Raphael's Church in Bridgeport where she was a member of the church choir, Italian Club, and the Neo Catechumenate Group. In Torrington, Mrs. Barbiero was a communicant of St. Francis Church, a member of the St. Francis Women's Club, the St. Peter's Holy Rosary Society and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and canning. Survivors include two sons; Thomas Barbiero and his wife, Ann, of Stratford and Frank Barbiero and his wife, Debbie, of Shelton, two daughters; Louisa "Gina" Leto and her husband, Filippo, of Torrington and Antoinette Samatoski and her husband, Edward, of Milford, a brother; Domenico DeMarco and his wife, Maria, of Italy, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2012, at 11:30a.m. from the Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main Street, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
