Tony Puglia Obituary

PUGLIA Tony Luigi Puglia, age 100 of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of the late Betty Ann (Zavacky) Puglia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Milford Health Care with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 28, 1910, he was the son of the late Antonio and Theresa (Rapuano) Puglia and had five sisters and one brother, and was a Bridgeport and Stratford resident most of his life. Tony was a retired employee in the maintenance department at General Electric Co. in Bridgeport where he worked for 35 years, he was a member of the Old Timers Athletic Association of Bridgeport and a volunteer at Bridgeport Health Care Center also know as the Dinan Center for 12 years. Survivors include his beloved family, one son, Patrick A. Puglia and wife, Patricia of Huntington; two daughters, Carol Schuler and husband, Richard Sr. of Milford, and Jeannette Dinan of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren; several great-grand-children; nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements entrusted to the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. www.parentelauro.com.
