Vera Blade Obituary

Vera Blade
Vera Pergolizzi Blade of Shelton passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 63. She was first and foremost a devoted and deeply loving mother. She is survived by her son Stephen and his fiancé Kelsey and granddaughter Liora who she loved very much. She is also survived by her husband of nearly 40 years Paul. She is survived by her father Frank and mother Pina, who lovingly and tirelessly cared for her until the very end, as well as her brother John and his wife Patricia. She adored her little brother and their bond was very special to her. She was also beloved as Auntie Vee to her many nieces and nephews. She held a special place in the hearts of her niece Christina and her husband Andrew, and her nephews Frank and his wife Lisa, Nick, and James and his wife Katie, her great-nieces Arianna and Kingsley, great-nephews John, Joseph, and Jetson brought her joy, laughter, and pride. She was known by all of them as the fun aunt, the protective aunt, and the one who brought excitement and warmth everywhere she went. She had cherished extended family across Italy, London, and Australia, whom she loved visiting and staying connected with. She was predeceased by her daughter Cara and her loving Uncle Joe.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she carried her New York roots proudly. She loved music, travel, and creating traditions and memorable experiences for the people she loved. She celebrated every milestone with enthusiasm and always put family at the center of her world. Her devotion to her community was unwavering. She volunteered at St. Joseph's parish and school HSA, and was heavily involved when Stephen played football for St. Joseph's High School. She gave her time freely to events such as Fish Fry Fridays and countless school and parish functions. She enjoyed a fulfilling career at Mutual Securities Credit Union. Even after her ALS diagnosis, she continued to work and cherished the relationships she had with her coworkers. Her strength, warmth, and courage inspired everyone who knew her. She leaves behind lifelong friends, including her dear friend Eunice. Her life was defined by love, generosity, resilience, and devotion to family. She will be remembered forever and missed beyond measure.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
