Vincent Kostzewski Obituary

KOSTZEWSKI Vincent J. Kostzewski, age 83, beloved husband of Irene Piroscafo Kostzewski, of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Kostzewski was born in Milford, on May 14, 1921, and was the son of the late Chester and Alice Stanislowski Kostzewski. Vincent was a longtime resident of Milford prior to moving to Stratford in 1986 and was a United States Marine World War II veteran. A graduate of Milford High School in 1940 he was the former proprietor of Milford Shoe Repair on Daniels Street for 35 years. He was a past president of Milford High School Father's Club, past president of Orange Hill's Men's Golf Association, lifetime member of the Milford Elks, lifetime member of the Milford American Legion and a elected constable for the town of Stratford. In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia Mahon and her husband, Raymond, of Milford; one son, Theodore Kostzewski and his wife, Dawn, of Trumbull; one step-son, Daniel Piroscafo and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Piroscafo of Huntington; four step-daughters, Donna Madamba and her husband, Richard, of Marlboro, Alane Oleksiak and her husband, William, of Seymour, Lori DeBlasi of Stratford, Renee Zampedri of Huntington; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Chester, Koceski of Milford; four sisters, Estelle Rissell of Florida, Edna Brinsco, Virginia Mingrone, Helen Broughton, all of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gladys Knapp Kostzewski; a brother, Walter; step-father, Frank Patriz; and granddaughters, Susan and Sarah Kostzewski. Funeral services will be be held on Thursday, December 9, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, (corner of Judson Place) and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Lawrence McMahon. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute to St. Mark Church Building Fund or the the American Cancer Society c/o Colon Cancer Research, 30 Speen Street Farmington, MA 01701.
