Virginia Schirillo Obituary
Virginia D. Schirillo, age 78, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 57 years to Anthony Schirillo, II. Virginia was born in Bridgeport, on August 6, 1937, daughter of the late Amedeo and Rose (Diani) DiRenzo and was a Stratford resident until moving to Shelton in 1973. She practiced nursing for a short time at Bridgeport Hospital, before devoting her life to her family. Virginia and her husband were the former owners of T.J. Delicatessen in Stratford. She also enjoyed baking and bowling. Virginia is the beloved mother of Anthony Schirillo, III and his wife Gayle. Linda Schirillo, and Vicky Seminoro and her husband Kurt Fredricks, sister of, June Carroll, Theresa DiRenzo, Nina Arnold, and Guy and Louis DiRenzo. She is the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Virginia is also survived by several nieces and nephews. On Saturday, friends are invited to her memorial mass at 1pm at St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave. Shelton. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 3 Landmark Square #330, Stamford CT 06901. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements.
