Walter Minao Valentine Nishimura

NISHIMURA Walter Minao Valentine Nishimura, age 89 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2010. He was the husband of Josefina Nishimura. Mr. Nishimura was born October 12, 1920 in Seattle, Wash. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received his honorable discharge. Upon his return from duty, he lived in New York City until moving to Bridgeport in 1966. Throughout his life, he had multiple and various careers and retired from Moore Special Tool Company in Bridgeport. Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves three sons, Teudy Montalvo of Houston, Texas, Francis Nishimura of West Haven, and Antonio Alvarez of Craw-fordville, Fla.; three daughters, Evelyn Tenayuca of San Antonio, Texas, Carol Nishimura-Velazquez of Bridgeport and Margaret Mester of Monroe; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Walter Nishimura, Jr. and his daughter, Hilda Montalvo. Respecting his wishes, there will be no services or memorial gathering. A burial of his ashes has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 12 p.m. directly in the Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Please feel free to dedicate a Mass or Spiritual Service of your choosing. Remember him with a smile as a man who will be missed by many and who loved and was deeply loved by his family.
