William T. Bisson, Jr.
William T. Bisson, Jr., age 70, of Oyster Bay Cove, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born on November 1, 1948, to the late William and Jane Bisson in Cleveland, OH. After spending much of his childhood in Medina, OH, he graduated from Wilton High School in Wilton, CT. Bill attended Miami University (FL) and later graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. While attending UB, he worked at the Village Market in Wilton, CT. Bill later served in the US Army Reserves – Military Intelligence Branch. Bill began his career in media and publishing at Billboard magazine. He then joined Crain Communications where he sold ad space for AdAge magazine and later moved over to Pensions & Investments. At the end of an illustrious career that included launching two publications, he retired as the Group Publisher and Editorial Director for Crain Financial Group. After his retirement, he stayed in close contact with his ex-colleagues and remained a noteworthy figure in the publishing industry. William was predeceased by his wife MaryBeth Bisson and sister Bonnie Fogarty. Survivors include his sister, Catherine (husband Robert) Davis of Rotonda West, FL; daughter Lindsay Bisson of Stamford, CT, and son Robert (wife Meghan) Bisson of Seymour, CT. A memorial will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
