William Andrew Kolack
William Andrew Kolack, age 94, of Shelton, beloved husband of Dorothea "Dee" Byers Kolack, passed away on July 3, 2022, in his home. William was born in Astoria, Queens, New York to the late Stephen and Pauline (Fedak) Kolack. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving primarily in the Philippines. After the service he joined the FAA, working at airports throughout the Northeast on instrument landing systems. He became a master electrician and electrical contractor for many years, and later was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in North Haven. Growing up, William was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, and his lifelong hobbies remained camping, boating, and fishing. However, his family was his greatest pleasure. Survivors, in addition to Dee, his beloved wife of 69 years, include his devoted children, William J. Kolack and his wife Sandra of Southbury, Dr. Barbara Kolack and her husband, John Veach of North Carolina, and David S. Kolack of Woodbury; six cherished grandchildren Justin, Kristin, and Kaitlin Kolack, and James, Trainer, and David Veach.
