William Marcano, Sr, age 80, of Bridgeport passed away into eternal Life with the Lord on December 20, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. William is the husband of Nereida Marcano whom he married over 36 years ago. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico but moved into the Bridgeport area many years ago. He served the Lord for over 56 years. He graduated from the Bible Institute in 1964 and was instrumental in the establishment of two churches in the Danbury area. He was employed for the Connecticut Post Telegram and for the City of Bridgeport until his retirement from both after 30 years of service. He is survived by his 6 children Milagros Garcia and her husband Manuel, William Marcano Jr. and his wife Carmen, Daisy Santiago, Lisa Santiago Marra and her husband Thomas Marra III and Severo Santiago; His grandchildren Manuel Garcia, Jr., Simon Garcia, Samantha Santiago and Jayden Ramirez; great granddaughter Alyssa A. Garcia; his stepchildren which he loved as his own Daniel Rodriguez, Carmen Morales and Jose Alvarado; his sisters Raquel (Cookie) Cotto and Carmen Hernandez; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will sorely miss him; He was predeceased by his daughter the late Sheltrie White and his sister the late Gloria Gonzalez; The family would like to express their gratitude to the Bridgeport Hospital Staff on Richardson 10, the VNS nurses Aides Elizabeth Paulin and Nurse Natasha & Dr. Choskey and Staff for the unparalleled care of William throughout the years.
