William Morrissey Obituary
William J. Morrissey Jr. age 76 of Bridgeport, loving husband of 25 years to Jill Levine Morrissey passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 27, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late William J. and Amelia Bjorklund Morrissey. William "Bill" was born and raised in Bridgeport, he became a Fireman for the City of Bridgeport in 1971. His whole life was centered around his fellow fireman and his family. When he retired from the fire department, he loved working for local funeral homes and made many lifelong friends. Bill was also very active with the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters and greatly enjoyed attending meetings and events. He will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his loving wife Jill, he leaves behind his daughters Elisa Auker and husband Jeff, Karen Morrissey and stepdaughter Greta Kerr and husband Kyle. Bill has four loving grandchildren: Jake Ciraco, Megan Ciraco, Billy Dodge and Bobby Dodge, three loving step-grandchildren: Emma Auker, Cole Auker and Max Auker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10 am in St. Margaret Shrine in Bridgeport, followed by interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. In abiding with his wishes, calling hours have been omitted. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport has been entrusted with his services.
