David J. Macke, 75, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late James L.R. and Dorothy Macke (nee Bachmann). Beloved husband of Maribeth (nee Dull) for 53 years (married September 18, 1971). Dear father of Ross (Ramayne) of Carlisle, Luke (Tasha) of Dillsburg, and Suzanne of Arlington, Va.. Grandfather of Magarrin, Gavin, and Harper. Brother of Gail and James R.L. Macke and the late Deborah Kippenbrock.
Funeral arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's name may be made to Nittany Greyhounds, Inc. 30 Tld Circle, Port Matilda, Pa, 16870 https://nittanygreys.org or The Parkinson's Foundation https://www.parkinson.org 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126. In loving memory of David J. Macke,
53 years of knowing David Macke, so many memories.
Dave was a Good Man. He cared for and loved Maribeth and his family through good times and not so good times.
He loved animals. He was happy when he had a garage full of Greyhounds.
When he got sick and I would visit, he was happy to see my dogs and always gave me a big smile when I said goodbye. His smiles would make my day.
Dave was like my Brother. I loved him.
My heart is heavy. He will always be in my heart and I will miss him.
