Grace Marie Hill

1915 - 2006

Grace Marie Hill, 90, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the Thornwald Home in Carlisle.

She was born on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1915, in Marysville, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary E. (Sloop) Knaub. She was the widow of Nelson M. Hill, who died Sept. 23, 1972.

Grace was a 1933 graduate of Carlisle High School and had been employed as a teacher's aide at the Neighborhood Day Care Center in Harrisburg for 15 years.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Enola.

She was preceded in death by a son, Nelson M. Hill Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda M. Hill of Carlisle and Roberta M. Hill of Dillsburg; a brother, L. Nelson Knaub of Poquoson, Va.; a sister, Esther Anderson of West Fairview; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 12, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Anna L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the East Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, May 12, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
