Gregory J. Walters, 56, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Carlisle, with his daughter Angie by his side. He was born in Carlisle, PA on June 24, 1956 to Bessie "Helen" Myers Walters Ronan and the late John A. Walters.
Greg was a former truck driver who drove for several of the local trucking firms before his illness. He was a member of the Dillsburg American Legion Post #26. In his free time, Greg enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and drag racing, when he drove at the South Mountain Speedway. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Robert Lee Walters and his wife Alisha who are stationed in San Antonio, TX; three daughters, Tracey L. Stone and her husband Randy of Newport, Angela S. Wiser of Carlisle and Erin M. Vozzelli of Etters; and his step father, Joseph Ronan of Mt. Holly Springs, PA. Also surviving is a brother, Jeffery L. Walters, of Gardners; two sisters, Claudine M. Bond of Mt. Holly Springs and Peggy Cloud of Lakeland, FL; and fourteen grandchildren. Greg was preceded by a grandson, Joseph Blake Walters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 602 McLand Rd., Mt. Holly Springs. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard L. Reese. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. The family will be receiving relatives and friends following services with a light luncheon in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in Greg's memory. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
