Jack Samuel Kitzmiller, 72, of 30 County Line Lane, Newburg, died suddenly on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in Upper Mifflin Township, Cumberland County.
Born on April 3, 1937, in Greene Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Delbert and Helen Reed Kitzmiller.
Jack retired in 1996 from the Shippensburg University, as an equipment operator and grounds keeper.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg, a member of the Chambersburg Saddle Club and the South Mountain Rangers. Jack loved horses, farming and Ford tractors, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving is his wife of 17 years, Connie J. Cramer Kitzmiller; two daughters, Jackie Wert of Newville and Lori (and her husband, Terry) Hock of Shippensburg; three sons, Samuel (and his wife, Danielle) Kitzmiller, Corey Kitzmiller and Craig Kitzmiller, all of Newburg; a bother, Lee Kitzmiller of Fort Loudon; a sister, Cindy Paxton of Reston, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Hay.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Otterbein United Methodist Church, 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg, with Pastor Phyllis A. Hunter officiating. Burial will be held in Otterbein Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
