Joan Hinterleiter Obituary
Joan Elizabeth (Keller) Hinterleiter of Shermans Dale, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services in Carlisle.
She was born on Sep. 8, 1926, in Scranton, to Russell and Elizabeth (Cawley) Keller.
Joan was a graduate of Hawley High School, Wayne County, with the Class of 1944, and a volunteer with the Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter and the Bosler Free Library in Carlisle. Most recently, she had been living by her son, Jeff, in the Greening Life Community, near Shermans Dale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Alfred Hinterleiter.
Joan is survived by her son, Jeffry Keller Schmidt of Shermans Dale; her grandsons, Jeremy Jefferson Schmidt of Seattle, Wash., and Michael James Schmidt of Norristown; and her great-granddaughter, Anna.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held later this year, at the convenience of the family.
Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services, Harrisburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter or the Bosler Free Library.
