John Gregor Obituary

John Edward Gregor, 75, of Carlisle, died on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services in Carlisle.

Born on July 30, 1933, in Bethel Township, Allegheny County, John was a son of the late Paul Gregor and Julia (Sabo) Gregor, and was widowed from Florence H. (Miller) Gregor, who died on Jan. 16, 2009.

John graduated in 1951 from Union City High School, Union City, and studied electrical engineering for two years in college. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962, and retired as an electronics engineer with Westinghouse Productions in Pittsburgh after 30 years of service. John also worked as a camera repairman.

He was a member of the Richland Sportsmens Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

John was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Brian Pfannenschmidt.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Deborah (and her husband, Dennis) Pfannenschmidt of Carlisle; two nephews, Michael and Eric Gregor, both of Union City; a cousin, Ellen Kuchejda of Arnold; and two step-granddaughters, Sarah and Amy Pfannenschmidt.

Private services and burial will be held in Mt. Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw.

Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.
