John Paul Penney, age 58, of Biglerville, passed away November 30, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. He was born August 15, 1967, in Fort Lewis, Wash., to Arleen F. (Scannell) Penney of Killeen, Texas, and the late Willard Penney.
John was a Master Sergeant in the US Army, having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and was a member of Trinity Christian Fellowship. He was very proud of his boys and loved helping on the family farm.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brynn A. (McCleary) Penney; sons, Brendan W. Penney and fiancée, Becca Wendowski of Biglerville, and Johnathan W. Penney of Biglerville and companion, Kenzie Grimard of Purcellville, Va.; brother, Robert Penney and wife, Rhonda Armstrong-Penney of Killeen, Texas; and seven cats.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. At John's request, there will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I knew and respected John since I began working with him at Carlisle. That was 2022. We quickly became friends and I had a great respect for him as a colleague.
