The Reverend Melvin D. Bole, affectionately known as Mel, peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family at UPMC of Williamsport on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 22, 1940, in Erie, Mel lived a life defined by serving God, and dedication to his family and community.
A viewing will be held starting at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. An abbreviated funeral service to honor Mel's life will immediately follow the viewing, starting at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be private. The family will announce the date of a future Celebration of Life service for anyone who would like to further honor Pastor Mel.
