Ramona Ann Jacobs
January 21, 1942 - October 27, 2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ramona Ann Jacobs, born on January 21, 1942, in York, Pennsylvania to the late Edgar and Dorothy Wampler. Ramona departed this life on October 27, 2025, in Simpsonville, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, dedication, and service.
Ramona was a beacon of strength and resilience throughout her life. She graduated from Bermudian Springs High School and continued her commitment to learning at South Carolina Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Columbia, South Carolina, where she earned her registered nursing degree. Her remarkable career as a registered nurse spanned 30 years, during which she served with distinction at Harrisburg Hospital and Yellow Breeches Family Practice in Pennsylvania. Ramona's nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to her patients reflected her profound love for others.
An active member of several faith communities, Ramona was involved with Immanuel Christian and Missionary Alliance in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, First Baptist in Oviedo, Florida, Christ Community Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, and most recently, Horizon Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Her faith was central to her life, and she found joy and purpose in attending Ladies Bible Studies and supporting her grandchildren's sporting events. She was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and arranging flowers.
Ramona is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Richard Jacobs; her children, Richard "Scott" Jacobs, Jr. (Tara) of Simpsonville, S.C., Julie Sitnik (John) of Winter Garden, Fla, and Laurie Carneiro (Ademir) of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Thomas Meads, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Julianne Shelton (Isaac) of Norfolk, Va., Autumn Williams (Jay) of Orlando, Fla., Angelica Carneiro of Santa Clara, Calif., Allyson Sasinowski (Tom) of Sterling, Va., Emily Patterson (Matt) of Lynchburg, Va., Natalie Hughes of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Richard Scott Jacobs III and Hannah Jacobs of Simpsonville, S,C,; as well as six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Jacobs.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Horizon Church followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Ramona will be laid to rest in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hampton, Pa., honoring her lifelong connection to her home state. Services will also be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA with a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In remembrance of Ramona's unwavering faith, we reflect on her favorite scripture, Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus."
