Ruby Johnson Obituary
She was born Tuesday, June 4, 1929, in Madison Township, Perry County, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Kuhn) Rodgers. She resided most of her life in Carlisle.
She was a graduate of Blain High School, class of 1947, and was a retired employee of the former G.C. Murphy Co. at the former Carlisle Plaza Mall. She was a member of St. Mary's United Methodist Church in Bloserville.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James K. Johnson; a son, Kenneth R. Johnson and wife, Karen, of Carlisle; daughters, Shirley E. Frisch and husband, Ted, of New Cumberland and Deborah Barry-Leininger and husband, Michael, of Denver, Pa.; a sister, Edna Milligan of Kistler; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Johnson and a daughter, Donna Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Alex S. Quigley officiating. Burial will be in the LeTort Cemetery in Middlesex Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's United Methodist Church in Bloserville, PA c/o Kelly Shughart, 576 Hunters Road, Newville, PA 17241.

Although I was never privileged to meet Mrs. Johnson, I am a dear friend of her daughter, Shirley, and I know she must have been a wonderful person. To her family, our love and prayers.

I went to school at Maryland Medical Secretarial School with her daughter, Shirley Frisch. Shirley talked very highly of her mom and I am sorry I never got the pleasure of meeting her. Sometimes knowing the daughter is like knowing the parent and if that is so she must have been a wonderful, caring woman. My heart goes out to the family.

The family of Ruby is in my thoughts at this time. Ruby was a good lady who would do anything for others. I worked with her at Murphy's when I was 15 and I will NEVER forget her. I have thought about her different times but didn't know where she was. I will miss her.
